Milan: Tax police seized more than 28,000 pairs of counterfeit brand-name shoes in a Chinese warehouse – Italian News – Italian Xinhua Times, Xinhua Media Network, sponsored by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce

Recently, the tax police conducted an inspection in Milan and surrounding areas in order to regulate the market and crack down on counterfeit and shoddy goods. During the inspection, the police seized a Chinese warehouse in the suburbs of Milan and seized more than 28,000 pairs of counterfeit and imitation brand-name shoes. Five suspects were captured, one Italian, two Chinese, and one Senegalese.

When the police searched the warehouse, they found more than 28,000 pairs of counterfeit “Nike” shoes and a large trailer and a Fiat DUCATO used to transport counterfeit goods. According to the parties involved, the counterfeit Nike shoes ordered are usually stored in this warehouse, and then packaged and shipped to various surrounding areas of Milan or other cities. Currently, the five suspects may be illegally importing and selling counterfeit and imitation shoes. The crime of brand-name goods has been charged by the police and the court. Preliminary estimates by police experts indicate that the total value of the seized goods may be more than one million euros. The entire incident is still under investigation by the police.
