Zurich’s Binh Minh School celebrated Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, paying tribute to those who have overcome geographical and time challenges to spread Vietnamese language and culture to the younger generation. Students, parents and members of the Vietnamese community in Switzerland expressed their gratitude to these teachers, who are essential to preserving Vietnamese cultural identity. The Vietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland also participated in the event and emphasized the key role of Binh Minh School in strengthening the relationship between the Vietnamese community and Vietnam.

Vietnam Communist Party General Secretary Lam Du stressed the need to resolutely reform the country’s political system. At the first meeting of the Central Steering Committee for the Implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of 2017, he stressed the need to streamline organizational structures and take concrete actions. He also called for reforms in recruitment, training, promotion and evaluation processes to identify and promote the best talents while eliminating those who are not qualified.
Vietnam and China opened two temporary cross-border corridors on November 17 to facilitate commercial, people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The first one connects Malipo County in Yunnan Province, China and Nghi Sun Commune in Ha Giang Province, Vietnam. The second one connects Yangwan Town in China and Bai Di Commune in Ha Giang Province. These roads are important for people on both sides of the border and will promote exchanges between local people and cooperation between Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture and Ha Giang Province.
