Fighting intensified in Chin state’s Faram and Minda towns as Myanmar’s military regime deployed warplanes, drones and artillery to repel a Brotherhood-allied offensive in Chin state. The alliance launched “Operation Chin Brothers” on November 9, simultaneously attacking junta positions in two remote mountain towns. Fighting has intensified since, with the regime carrying out daily airstrikes. The CBA successfully captured several strategic locations, including the Faram police station. However, the conflict continues to rage and the humanitarian consequences of the war are worsening as populations are devastated and displaced.
Myanmar’s military regime has stepped up air strikes on Ta’ang National Liberation Army positions in northern Shan State and Mandalay region. Air strikes targeted civilian areas, causing large numbers of civilian casualties. The attacks follow a recent visit by the junta leader to China, where he has secured support from Beijing to suppress armed resistance. The National Liberation Army, a member of the Brotherhood, has launched a major offensive in northern Shan state, but the junta is trying to regain control of lost territory.
